BRIAN PATTERSON THANK YOU PARTY - THIS SUNDAY

For the past few years Brian Patterson has been our Interim Worship Director, and in the bringing on of our new worship pastor Jason Paras, Brian has concluded his time in February. Brian and his wife, Silvana, have sacrificed so much and we are so grateful of Brian and his willingness to lead our worship ministry. This Sunday, March 19th, we will celebrate the Pattersons for all they’ve done during the interim period. Lunch will be served for all!
 
NO COFFEE FELLOWSHIP THIS WEEK - BRIAN PATTERSON PARTY
This Sunday, we do not need treats or drinks for our time of fellowship, as we are hosting the Brian Patterson Thank You Party, and it will be catered with full lunch options. We do not need food donations.

STUDENT MINISTRIES CAMPOUT

This Spring we are going camping at Carpinteria overnight! We will be joining Ocean Hills Covenant Church for a wonderful overnight campout complete with food, games, worship and time in fellowship together. It is April 22nd-23rd and cost is $60.00/person. Sign ups are open!

ILLUMINATE STUDENT MINISTRIES

This Wednesday we will be gathering together for a night of fun, food, games, God's word and Small group as we continue our series on Jesus. Group is this Wednesday from 6:30-8:15pm and we will be meeting in the media room.

CHERISH WOMEN'S MINISTRY SATURDAY GATHERING - MARCH 25

Hello Women of Community Covenant Church, Cherith Women’s Ministry is hosting a day of fellowship and study together at a beautiful location complete with Tea and a time in the book of 1 Kings. ANNUAL MEETING - MARCH 26

The Annual Congregational Business Meeting will be held March 26th at 11:30 a.m in the Worship Center following the Sunday service. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you are a member of Community Covenant Church we strongly encourage you to be there, as we will be voting on new members of the board and our 2023-2024 budget. The following items will be on the agenda:

Leadership Board Candidate Bios

Fred Gallagher, Vice Chair, 2 years
Fred is married to Michele, soon to celebrate their 45th anniversary. They have two children, a son Jamie (35) who is recently married to Elise, and a daughter Cherie (33), who is also a member of Community Covenant Church. Fred, Michele and Cherie have attended Community Covenant Church since approximately 2010. Fred has been involved in ministry at Community Covenant, attending and leading Life Groups, participating in a men’s group, and helping to teach the Old Testament Overview, New Testament Overview and What Christians Believe Kingdom Conversations. Fred has a love of Biblical archeology, Bible history and early church history. He is currently a member of the biblical stewardship ministry team. Fred has been a resident of Santa Barbara since moving into the area in 1968.  Fred is recently retired after 43 years at Raytheon Technologies, where he worked as program chief engineer. In his spare time, Fred enjoys reading, traveling, and working on his model steam locomotives. Fred looks forward to helping our church community grow in all that our Lord has for us.

Chris Call, Treasurer, 3 years
Chris and his wife, Lisa, began attending Community Covenant two years ago. Since then, Chris has been a volunteer in youth ministry, worship, and strategic planning. Chris retired from Westmont College in January 2020 after working for six years there as Executive Assistant to the President and then 18 years as Vice President for Administration and Planning. Chris and Lisa have attended Covenant churches throughout their 41-year marriage; he served on the Church Councils, and in various church officer positions, at their two previous Covenant churches.

Donna Voigt, Secretary, 2 Years
Donna is a native of Santa Barbara/Goleta and was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. She grew up attending Emanuel Lutheran Church with her family and also went to Santa Barbara Christian School.  She received Christ as her Savior at Vacation Bible School when she was 8 or 9 years old. Donna and her husband Scott are empty-nesters.   They have three grown children who were active in the youth program at CCC when they were younger. Her family decided to make CCC their new church home and eventually, in 2016, Donna and Scott made it “official” and became members of CCC. Donna has served as the LB Secretary for the past 4 years and would be honored to continue to serve the Lord in this way for another 2-year term.

Lola Engwall, Member, 2 Years
Lola has known God loves her since she was a child. she is fortunate to grow up in a Christian home and attend a church where the Bible was preached. Lola has been a member of a Covenant church her entire life. She has been married to her husband, Jim for almost 59 years, and they have three married children and four grandchildren. They spent most of the ‘70’s as missionaries at KICY, the Covenant’s radio station in Nome, Alaska. Lola is currently on the leadership board and has served in leadership in other churches and have been involved in Bible studies most of her adult life. They live at Samarkand where she co-leads a Lectio group and attends a women’s Bible study. Lola’s goal is to keep growing in her faith and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Alicia Larson, Member, 2 Years
Alicia became a follower of Jesus when she was in 4th or 5th grade through the prayers and influence of her grandparents (who sent her to camp at Mt. Hermon and took her to church with them). Alicia’s faith deepened and solidified when she joined an Intervarsity  small group at UCSB.  It was through that group that Alicia started coming to CCC. Currently, Alicia and her husband oversee life groups and serve (along with their two kids) in the Children's Ministry.  CCC has been a spiritual home for Alicia since college. She has been discipled, and she has discipled others here. Alicia loves being a part of and serving this body.  Her desire to help our church share Christ's love with our body and our community.

Marian Henin, Member, 2 Years
After officially moving to the States in 2009, having lived in 3 different countries, Community Covenant Church has been home and a blessing to Marian’s family since 2010. She met her husband Karim 25 years ago, a college tutor, sweetheart and they have been married for 18 years. They are blessed with 3 young teenagers, Alex, attends 10th grade at Providence, Lilly and Sam, attend 8th grade at Providence. Christ has been her Savior since early childhood but Marian’s faith and walk with Him was deeply molded during her high school and college years serving on the worship team and serving medically underserved remote Egyptian communities while sharing biblical opportunities. Marian currently serve at CCC with our Children’s ministry and Operation Christmas Child during the fall.

WOMEN'S TEA TO WELCOME ALLIE PARAS - APRIL 1

All women at Community Covenant are invited to join in welcoming Allie Paras to our church family. Allie is married to Jason, our new Pastor of Worship and Young Adults. We will meet at the home of Denice Fellows (1390 Camino Manadero) for tea and a time of fellowship.
