So sorry for the resend, but our new secretary missed a typo and put Doreen's name on Merlin's memorial! You are free to joke with her about it.
Thanks to Pat Michaels for gently pointing it out!

Hello Community Covenant Church of Goleta!

Welcome to another meaningful week at Community Covenant Church-and another sacred opportunity to gather as God's people. As we journey through the Lent season, gather together with us as we support one another in our walk with Jesus, Remember you are not alone.

How seriously do we take it when the Bible calls us brothers and sisters? Toward the end of their letter, the writers of 1 Thessalonians unveil the key piece that unites us and enables us to live as siblings.

God is moving at Community Covenant, and we encourage you to take a moment to explore the updates below and see where God might be inviting you next.

Ladies Lunch Out | March 15, After Service

Community happens best around a table.

All women are invited for a relaxed lunch together at Natural Café on Hitchcock on Sunday, March 15, at 12:30 PM. After church, we'll simply head over and enjoy time together - no program, no pressure, just good food and great conversation.

Each woman will purchase her own lunch, making this an easy, no-prep way to build deeper friendships and welcome others into community.

Whether you've been part of Community Covenant for years or you're just getting connected, this is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen relationships, share stories, and grow together.

We hope you'll join us - and feel free to invite a friend!

Easter Egg Hunt Candy Fill-Up

Easter is right around the corner, and we're getting ready for one of our favorite traditions - the Community Covenant Easter Egg Hunt!

To help make it special for all of our kids, we're inviting you to stop by the Welcome Tent this Sunday and pick up a bag of empty Easter eggs.

Here's how you can help:

Take a carton of eggs home.

Fill the eggs with candy.
(Please no chocolate due to melting.)

Bring them back by March 29 (Palm Sunday).

It's a simple way our whole church can work together to create a joyful and memorable Easter celebration for the children in our community.

Let's fill those eggs and make this year's Easter Egg Hunt extra fun!

Annual Congregational Business Meeting

Sunday, March 29 | Immediately Following the Service

Church family, we invite you to join us for our Annual Congregational Business Meeting on Sunday, March 29, right after the morning service in the Worship Center.

This is an important moment in the life of our church. It's a time to reflect on what God has done, look ahead to where He is leading us, and participate in key decisions that help shape our future together.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
If you are a member of Community Covenant Church, your participation is especially important as we will be voting in new board members as well as our annual budget.

We are grateful for the ways God continues to work in and through our church, and this gathering is one meaningful way we walk forward together in unity and purpose.

KARIM HENIN, Nominee for Treasurer

After officially immigrating to the USA in 2009 and having lived in three different countries, Community Covenant Church has been home and a blessing to our family since 2010.

I met my amazing bride, Marian, 27 years ago-she was my college tutor and sweetheart-and we've now been married for 20 years. We're blessed with three wonderful teenagers: Alex, who studies Aerospace Engineering at CS Long Beach, and Lilly and Sam, who are both in 11th grade at Providence.

Although I grew up in a Christian family, my true Christian birth took place during my college years at a three-day Prayer and Worship conference with over 2,000 attendees. My faith and intimacy with the Lord were deeply shaped during my pharmacy college years, serving underserved and remote Egyptian communities-meeting medical needs while sharing the Living Truth through prayer and worship outreach events.

At CCC, I currently serve with the Tech Team, Children's Ministry, Operation Christmas Child during the fall, and the Leadership Board in the area of missions and outreach. I am truly honored to be nominated as Treasurer.

GREG ROBERTSON, Nominee for Leadership Board

My parents were faithful believers and raised my sister and I accordingly. I don't remember a time in my life that I didn't believe in God and accepted Jesus as my savior at a Christian camp at the age of thirteen. I attended Spring Arbor College, a Christian school in Michigan prior to moving to California.

For more than ten years my wife Laura and I have been attending Community Covenant Church. We have been married for 32 years and have two sons Chase (27) and Bryce (24).

We are members of CCC and have been part of life groups for many years. We've been blessed by the close fellowship and spiritual growth life groups provide. We have greatly benefited from the spiritual wisdom and strength found in our groups during times of trial and need, and been blessed to have supported others when called upon. For the past several years I have had the opportunity to facilitate the Alpha program at CCC and witnessed the life changing impact it offers.

It is an honor to have been nominated to the Leadership Board.

This service will be a meaningful time to reflect, give thanks for Doreen's life, and support the family with our presence and prayers. Doreen was a faithful and cheerful helper for many years before she became homebound. Whether you remember Doreen's faithful service to the Lord or crossed paths with her previously at Community Covenant, all are welcome as we come together in hope and gratitude.

Good Friday Update

As we journey toward Easter, Good Friday invites us to slow down and stand in the tension of the cross. It's a sacred space-a moment to remember the cost of love and the depth of grace.

In past years, churches across Santa Barbara-including ours-have gathered for a shared Good Friday service. This year, that citywide gathering is taking a pause, and Community Covenant will not be hosting a Good Friday service of our own.

If you would like to attend a Good Friday service, we encourage you to join one of these neighboring churches:

Santa Barbara Community Church - Friday at 7:00 PM
Ocean Hills Covenant Church - Friday at 6:00 PM

Good Friday is a powerful moment in the story of our faith. Before we celebrate the joy of Easter Sunday, we pause to remember the sacrifice of Jesus and the love displayed on the cross.

Easter at Community Covenant
Sunday, April 5 | 10:00 AM | Outdoor Service

Easter is a celebration of resurrection-of hope breaking through darkness and new life rising in the name of Jesus.

Join us for a special outdoor Easter service as we gather to worship, celebrate, and remember the hope we have in the risen Christ. Whether Community Covenant has been your church home for years or you're just beginning to explore faith, there's a place for you here.

We'll have chairs set up outside, but you're also welcome to bring a blanket and get comfortable.

Invite cards will be available at the Connect Table, so feel free to grab a few and invite a friend, neighbor, or family member to join you.

Let's come together with joy and anticipation as we celebrate the risen King.
