Hello Community Covenant Church of Goleta!

Welcome to another meaningful week at Community Covenant Church!

This Sunday, we're again excited to gather together as a church family to continue our new series on Keepers of the Gospel: Reflections on Nehemiah.

This Sunday, we're looking at Nehemiah 3 and 1 Corinthians 12 and discovering how the gospel doesn't just save us-it brings us together as one body, each with a part to play. Come be reminded that God is building something here, side by side, and you have a place in it.

God is moving at Community Covenant, and we encourage you to take a moment to explore the updates below and see where God might be inviting you next.
LIFE AT COMMUNITY COVENANT

Remembering Carol Salzar

Our hearts go out to Don Salzar, who lost his dear wife, Carol, yesterday evening (4/29). Don and Carol were devoted members of our church community, but unable to be present at worship for the last few years due to ongoing health concerns. Please pray for Don who has lost his wife of 72 years. Pray also for their three sons as they grieve the loss of their beloved mother. We will update you about the time and place of her memorial service as details are determined.

Kids Ministry Family Picnic | This Sunday!

We love seeing our church come alive through connection-and one of the simplest ways that happens is when we spend time together.

On Sunday, May 3rd, right after the service, our Kids Ministry is hosting a Family Picnic out on the back lawn.

This is a gathering specifically for families in our Kids Ministry-a simple and meaningful time to share a meal, let the kids play, and build relationships with one another.

Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket, and come enjoy a relaxed afternoon together. Water, juice, and sparkling water will be provided.

For questions, please visit the welcome tent following the service. We'd love to see you there.

Women's Bible Study

Women's Ministries at Community Covenant will be following along with Pastor Eric's series on Reflections on Nehemiah using a workbook by best-selling Christian author, Max Lucado, titled Life Lessons from Ezra & Nehemiah. (Note: we won't be covering the Ezra portion in the study, but you are welcome to enjoy it on your own!) There are two meeting times available, Monday at 6:30pm or Wednesday at 10:00am. Both began the week of April 27th, but it's not to late to join us! The series will run for six weeks and the workbooks will be available at the meetings and at the Welcome Tent on Sunday for $9 (cash, check or Venmo welcome).

Ladies, this is an "easy homework" study, and we'll have a good discussion in our meeting time together. Max Lucado has a very engaging style that we think you will enjoy. Whether you're new to Bible Study or have been studying for years, you're invited to join us and grow in faith and community with us. To learn more visit the Welcome Tent
following the service.
Ladies, we hope to see you there!
Invite a friend or neighbor to join you!

College Age Lunch + Line Dancing | May 17

If you're college age (or around 25 and under), this is for you.

Two weeks from now-Sunday, May 17, right after worship-we're gathering for a taco lunch, followed by some line dancing out on the lawn.

No pressure on the dancing part… some of us are still learning, but it's going to be a really fun, low-key way to hang out, meet people, and build some connection.

We'd love to keep you in the loop for things like this, so we're also putting together a group text for our college-age crew. If you haven't already, stop by the Welcome Tent this Sunday and drop your name and number.

Come grab some tacos, try a few dance steps, and spend time with good people.

Sunday, May 17 | Right after service

We'd love to see you there.

Greeters and Usher Recruitment

At Community Covenant Church, one of the things we love most about Sundays is the way people are welcomed-through warm conversations, meaningful connections, and a genuine sense of belonging. Our greeting time and fellowship moments are a true reflection of that.

We're so grateful for our current greeter and usher team, who faithfully serve each week to help create that kind of environment.

As our church continues to grow, we're looking to expand this team-and we'd love for you to be part of it.

If you're interested in helping create a welcoming Sunday morning experience, we invite you to join us for a Greeter & Usher Open Gathering. This will be a simple, no-pressure time to learn more about what it looks like to serve in these roles and how you can get involved.

If you have any questions, feel free to connect with Brandon Read, our Pastor of Students and Connections.

Community Covenant of Goleta will be offering monthly free movie showings on Tuesday afternoons starting May 12. The doors to the Media Room will be open at 2pm and the movie will start at 2:15pm. Our first showing will be the film version of the stage play "The Hiding Place". We will have popcorn and sparkling water to kick off this new activity. Feel free to invite your friends!

"The Hiding Place" is based on the true story of Corrie Ten Boom. During World War II, Corrie Ten Boom and her family in Holland secretly hide Jews from the Nazis. When their efforts are discovered, they are arrested and sent to concentration camps. In the face of unimaginable suffering, Corrie relies on her unwavering faith to survive. This powerful true story, based on her best-selling book, showcases courage, sacrifice, and forgiveness, revealing how one woman's compassion transformed many lives.

This fall, Pastor Eric will be hosting a Christian Heritage Tour to key sites throughout these countries - and you're encouraged to be a part of this meaningful journey.
