Hello Community Covenant Church of Goleta

Dear Church Family,

This Sunday, we're looking forward to another meaningful time of worship together.

We'll be welcoming a very special guest, Laurie Polich Short. Laurie is an author, speaker, and a Santa Barbara local who has been a faithful friend of CCC. She's a joy to have as a friend, and we're thrilled she'll be sharing with us this Sunday.

Here's a note from Laurie:

"I am excited to be with you this Sunday and will be talking about how the life of Jesus can show us some enlightening things about God. We will be looking in particular at the story found in Luke 8:50-55, and what the details of this story show us about the way God works in our lives."

I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the horrific tragedy that took place last Sunday at a Mormon chapel in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Every time we hear of senseless violence and hate, it's heartbreaking-but especially when it happens in a place of worship, where freedom to gather should be protected and cherished.

Will you join me in praying for the families and community in Michigan who are mourning this Sunday? And as we do, let's also pray for safety and peace in our own nation. These tragic acts of hate and violence are becoming more frequent, and they remind us to keep praying for the peace of Jesus to wash over our world and heal the evil that too often shows its face.

There is much happening here at Community Covenant, so I encourage you to read below for more updates. As we gather, let's be praying for Laurie, for our church family, and that we may be filled with the peace and love of Jesus-the only One worthy of following.

In Him,
Brandon Read

Whether you're a parent, already volunteering in kids ministry, or curious about getting more involved, we're inviting you to join us for a time of connection. You'll:

  • Take a tour of our ministry spaces

  • Meet Halina and Mike, who are helping lead during this season

  • Ask important questions

We're offering two opportunities to connect:

Both gatherings will take place in the courtyard with coffee and light treats provided. No RSVP needed-just come and be part of the conversation as we look forward to what God is doing in and through our kids ministry!

  • College Bible Study - Tuesday nights in Isla Vista, dive into Scripture, ask honest questions, and encourage one another in faith.

No matter where you're at with Jesus - curious, committed, or somewhere in between - you'll find a place here. Bring a friend and join us!
