Hello Community Covenant Church of Goleta!

As we finish up our Summer activities and get ready for school to start, we continue to focus on the many facets of prayer.

Bonhoeffer once made a strong statement: "A Christian fellowship lives and exists by the intercession of its members for one another." If that's true, think about its implications! Join us this Sunday as we do just that.

There is so much happening at Community Covenant Church this summer, and we'd love for you to be part of it. Take a look at the opportunities below and join us as we worship the God who faithfully leads, guides, and transforms His people.

LIFE AT COMMUNITY COVENANT

☕️Sunday Fellowship!☕️

Looking for the perfect way to connect after church? Join us on the patio for food and great conversation! It's a wonderful way to unwind and build relationships in a warm, welcoming environment with friends-both old and new. ?

August is when we give our wonderful Hospitality Team a little break so there won't be the same wonderful spread on the tables. But the coffee and a small assortment of treats will be there to encourage you to stick around and meet new people!

All Church Time of Prayer | This Sunday, August 16

Join us this Sunday, August 16, following the service at around noon, for a 30-minute time of corporate prayer.

This gathering will be a space for us to seek God together as a church family-praying for our church, our community, and our personal walks with Jesus in the year ahead. We'll begin with a guided time of prayer together, followed by an opportunity for anyone who would like to share a personal prayer request and be prayed for by others in our church family.

We believe there is something powerful about coming together in prayer-gathered, dependent, and expectant before God-and we would love for you to join us.

Sunday, August 16 | Right after service

We'd love to see you there.

Exploring the Christian Heritage Classes on Monday (Open to All!)

Classes are meeting from 7:00-8:30pm on Mondays in the Sanctuary. During these sessions, Pastor Eric is exploring the history, people, and significance of many of the places we'll be visiting on this Fall's tour, helping bring the tour to life before we even depart and giving those that can't go a chance to share the experience. They are being live-streamed and recorded so you can catch up if you missed a class.

This week we have a guest lecturer, Dr. Mark Nelson from Westmont, discussing the life and beliefs of the well-known C.S. Lewis.

Everyone is welcome to attend even if you are not going on the tour! These classes will be especially meaningful for those traveling with the group.

We look forward to learning together as we prepare for this unforgettable journey!

Check out our Book Donations!

Besides loaning books from our library for anyone interested, we now have books available that you can keep! Thanks to several generous donations, we have a selection of books on a table in the Fireside Room that you are free to take. Just ask at the Welcome Desk on Sunday and we will be glad to show you the Library!

If you have a Christian book in good condition that you would like to add to the donation table, please contact Janice at Janice@comcov.org to arrange a drop-off.

? You Don't Have to Carry It Alone ?

Life can be beautiful, but it can also be heavy. Whether you're celebrating an answered prayer, facing a difficult season, carrying a burden, or simply needing encouragement, we want you to know that you are not alone.

At Community Covenant Church, we believe God hears prayer and that something powerful happens when God's people pray for one another.

Our Prayer Team is available after every service and would be honored to pray with you-whether your request feels big, small, or somewhere in between. No judgment. No pressure. Just people who care and want to seek God alongside you.

Can't stay after service? You can also submit a prayer request using the Prayer Request Tool below. Every request is received with care, prayed over faithfully, and treated with appropriate confidentiality.

Whatever you're carrying today, don't carry it by yourself. Let us pray with you.
